O'Neill Psycho Freak 3.5 MM (3159) Fullsuit 2009
O'Neill Super Freak 3.5mm Wetsuit

All new for 2009, the O'Neill Psycho Freak 3.5mm wetsuit.  All over 3.5mm.  This suit should replace and exceed the warmth of any 4/3mm wetsuit.  There's something totally new in this suit, XDS-Air neoprene.  You've never seen this material in a wetsuit before and it's totally bad-ass!  It looks a little different, there's a texture to it. The picture is with the outer protective coating removed so you can really see it.  After a few minutes of holding this brand new style wetsuit, you notice that it's very, very light weight with unbelievable stretch.

What you're really going to love is the warmth and stretch.  There's no other wetsuit anywhere that even come close to the O'Neill Psycho Freak - none.  An all over 3.5 means warmth is everywhere.  Of course, there's the 200% sealed seams that you get in the O'Neill Psycho II wetsuit, but the XDS-A neoprene is the warmest there is.  Oh and there's also the Firewall, that goes half way down the legs and is on the front and back!  There's also a "Code Red" zipper, that blocks out water, this is another new feature and it includes the new entry pullover system found in the Psycho II. This is going to be warmer than a lot of 4/5mm wetsuits out there, but it's going to feel like you're wearing a 3/2mm because the O'Neill Psycho Freak is the warmest, most flexible wetsuit ever made.

Our new XDS-Air Insulated Neoprene features a complex 3D structure of rubber and trapped air components. Combine XDS-Air with all the insane features of our mind-bending Psycho 2, and you have a wetsuit ready for the harshest conditions.

O'Neill Mutant 3/2 W/Hood (3162) 2009
The 2008/09 O'Neill Mutant Fullsuit with Hood 3162

The next generation of O'Neill mutant wetsuits have come alive Our patent-pending Modular Closure system makes the Mutant the most versatile wetsuit in our line. Now with UltraFlex XDS neoprene technology, the Mutant is more flexible and lighter than ever before.

O'Neill Mutant Wetsuit Review:

New for 09, the O'Neill Mutant wetsuit is in the running for the best suit of the year.  Loved by professionals and amateurs alike for its warmth and flexibility.  The Fall 2008 Winter 2009 models have added some new features to the already feature rich Mutant wetsuit line.

You've got to wear it to believe it. I thought this wetsuit was going to be a lot of hype. It's a lot of money for a wetsuit and I just couldn't see myself shelling out that kind of cake for a wetsuit. KWIM? Well, after trying this thing on, I found out it wasn't hype, it's a fact. I know there are a lot of terms and cool sounding gadgets in this wetsuit, but I don't know what most of them mean. I was going to try this wetsuit out and see if it would fit the bill.

The chest zip is way easier to enter than I had expected. It's easier to get into than my half BZ. I was expecting to have to pull a Houdini, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this wetsuit really was 'easy on' and even more importantly - easy off. One thing you're really going to notice about the chest zip is the lack of back-flush from a duck dive. No more sudden cold flushes running down your spine. I was very skeptical about the chest zip wetsuit, but I'm not sure if I'm going to ever wear a back zip again.

It's the little things that add up to make big differences. The neck lining stuff is a wonderful addition. It doesn't chafe your neck even after many hours in the surf and sun. I don't wear rashguards under my wetsuit anymore and that's a good thing. I bet the neck lining stuff has a fancy name, but I'll just call it great. I don't have calluses on my neck from a wetsuit anymore - hurray!

My first day in this wetsuit was a day to remember. Normally, I can do a good 2-3 hour session before I get noodle arms in a fullsuit. After 4.5 hours in the Mutant, the only reason I left was I needed to get something to eat before going to work. I don't know if it's the flexibility of the neoprene or O'Neill wetsuit design, but this wetsuit lets me surf more and keeps me warmer than my old wetsuit.

Good design and quality materials have made this my favorite wetsuit. I was afraid of the price, but after wearing this for a month, I can say it's now my favorite wetsuit I've ever owned and I can't believe I waited so long to buy it.

I haven't tested the hood because I live in a fairly warm place and it's not cold enough yet. Judging from everything else this suit does, I can't imagine the hood being anything other than stellar.

O'Neill Psycho II 3/2 (3154) Fullsuit 2009
The 2009 O'Neill Psycho II wetsuit... The Psycho II got a new model number this year and you O'Neill Wetsuit fans know what that means!  The new features you've been hearing about are here.  The Ultraflex XDS Neoprene is the softest, stretchiest wetsuit material in existence!  It stretches 125% - think about that, that's just an insane amount of stretch for a wetsuit.

The new entry system for the Psycho II is amazing.  When I heard about it, I wasn't too impressed, but seeing or rather trying on, is believing!  The pullover crew neck gasket thingy... that's revolutionary!  This is why O'Neill wetsuits are the best wetsuits on the planet!

The new Psycho 2 is on the loose. Thanks to new innovations in UltraFlex XDS neoprene technology the Psycho 2 is warmer, lighter and more flexible than ever before. Add in our Firewall (X-type) with gummy X-foam, and new ergonomic D-tox Knee padz and you can be confident you'll have the most insane suit in the water.
